UP govt prohibits meat, fish sales on Jan 22 for Ram Temple event
PTC News Desk: In preparation for the consecration of the Ram temple on January 22, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has declared a prohibition on the sale of meat and fish in the state. This announcement follows an earlier decision to restrict the sale of liquor on the same day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to preside over the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat joining other dignitaries on the occasion. The event, organized by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust, will see the participation of over 7,000 invited individuals.

The 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony, to be conducted by priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit from Varanasi, is scheduled for 12:20 pm and is expected to conclude by 1 pm. The installation will feature the idol of Ram Lalla, crafted by Mysore-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj, with seven days of consecration rituals initiated earlier in the week, incorporating various forms of puja. On January 21, the deity will undergo a divine bath with 125 urns.
Following the momentous event on January 22, the Ram temple will be opened to devotees, anticipating a steady influx of pilgrims and tourists from all corners of India.
