Dehradun, March 6: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated flight operations from Dehradun to Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Amritsar, marking a significant development in air connectivity for Uttarakhand. The flights, launched from Jolly Grant Airport, aim to simplify travel within the state and enhance tourism.

The inauguration ceremony, attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, featured symbolic gestures such as the lighting of a lamp and cutting of a cake. CM Dhami expressed the state's commitment to making intra-state travel convenient and straightforward.


"We endeavor to make moving people within the entire state of Uttarakhand convenient, simple, and easy. With the start of these air services, people will experience enhanced convenience in transportation, and tourism in the state will gain a new direction and momentum," said Chief Minister Dhami.

The Chief Minister highlighted the broader efforts of the double engine government to strengthen air connectivity in Uttarakhand. Previous initiatives included air connectivity from and to Dehradun-Pithoragarh and heli services from Haldwani to Champawat, Munsiyari, and Pithoragarh.

Expressing gratitude, Chief Minister Dhami thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for their support in realizing the vision of enhanced air connectivity for Uttarakhand.

"Hailing PM Modi, he said that under his leadership period, there has been unprecedented progress in every sector, including air services," reported the Chief Minister's office.

During the ceremony, Chief Minister Dhami interacted with passengers embarking on the flight to Ayodhya, sharing warm wishes and blessings for a safe journey. The atmosphere resonated with chants of "Jai Shri Ram," adding a spiritual touch to the event.

The Chief Minister underscored the significance of the newly initiated air services in promoting tourism, anticipating a positive impact on Uttarakhand's tourism sector. The state's tourism is expected to receive a new direction and momentum, aligning with the broader vision of fostering economic growth and development.

The Chief Minister revealed that he had personally approached Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia with a letter, urging for air services to Ayodhya.

The commencement of flight operations from Dehradun to Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Amritsar marks a pivotal moment in Uttarakhand's journey towards improved air connectivity.
