Sidhu discusses Punjab situation with Sonia, Priyanka

Former Punjab minister and Navjot Singh Sidhu on Thursday met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. He discussed the current situation of Punjab and shared the roadmap for the revival of the state with the Congress President.

Navjot Singh Sidhu's road map for Punjab

Navjot Singh Sidhu was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: "I was called to Delhi by party high command, I met Priyanka Ji and Sonia Ji on February 25 and 26. I briefed them about the current situation in Punjab and the roadmap ahead." He added that both Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi listened to him with great patience. Sidhu also said that he apprised them about the current situation of Punjab and shared with them a roadmap for revival of the state, on which the pride of Punjab can be established again. Navjot Sindh Sidhu met Priyanka Gandhi at her residence for almost 40 minutes on Tuesday before meeting the Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday. Adding, Navjot Singh Sidhu said that this was the same road map that he had put before the people with over many years of his public life. Navjot Singh Sidhu's resignation

Navjot Singh Sidhu had resigned from the Punjab cabinet on July 15 last year after Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had changed his portfolio. After the Punjab Cabinet reshuffle, Sidhu was given the Power Ministry, which he declined and never taken charge. Reacting to Sidhu's resignation, CM Captain Amarinder Singh had said that “If Sidhu doesn’t want to do his job, there’s nothing I can do about it“. -PTC News
