Navjot Singh Sidhu resigns as Punjab Congress president
Navjot Singh Sidhu resignation: In a major development, Navjot Singh Sidhu on Tuesday resigned as the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee.
Navjot Singh Sidhu, in his resignation to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, stated that "The collapse of a man's character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise on Punjab's future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab."

"Therefore, I hereby resign as the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Will continue to serve the Congress," he added.
Meanwhile, Captain Amarinder Singh said, "I told you so…he is not a stable man and not fit for the border state of Punjab."

It has been reported that Navjot Singh Sidhu was not happy with the allotment of portfolios and even some of the appointments in the cabinet.
On the other hand, former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is going to Delhi where is likely to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah. BJP leader Harjit Grewal confirmed the development and said that the meeting with Amit Shah is confirmed.
This comes at a time when there are rumours that he is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
It may be recalled that Captain Amarinder Singh had resigned, on September 18, following months-long turmoil with Navjot Singh Sidhu and the Congress high command.
