'No Challan Day' in Punjab on November 14, here's why
In an order to raise awareness about road safety issues, Punjab is observing 'No Challan Day' on Sunday, November 14, confirmed state Transport Minister Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.
As Punjab is observing 'No Challan Day', the police or transport department will not issue any challan. The initiative has been taken on the occasion of the 132nd birth anniversary of the country's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said that the officers and youth Congress workers will raise awareness about road safety issues. The public would be made aware of the possible damages for not following the traffic rules.

He also appealed to the leaders and workers of the opposition parties to make people aware so that the deaths related to road accidents can be prevented or reduced.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Raja Warring reached Jalandhar on Sunday to kick off the road safety campaign at BMC Chowk. This program is being organized simultaneously in more than 100 places in Punjab.
On average, at least 13 people die every day in road accidents. This was revealed from the Punjab Road Accidents and Traffic Research report in which it was stated that in 2018, 4,725 people died in road accidents. Likewise, the number has been increasing since then.
