Petrol and Diesel prices in India: Diesel crosses Rs 100 per litre mark

Petrol Diesel Prices in India: For the first time in India, the diesel price has crossed Rs 100 per litre mark after the oil marketing companies made a revision in fuel prices. It is the second hike in a row this week. In Delhi, the petrol price has gone up by 27 paise to Rs 96.12 per litre while diesel became costlier by 23 paise and now stands at Rs 86.98 per litre in the national capital. Sri Ganganagar, a small city in Rajasthan has become the first city in the country where both auto fuels -- petrol and diesel -- have crossed the century mark.

The petrol price in the city is being retailed at Rs 107.23 a litre while diesel in the city has reached Rs 100.06 a litre. The fuel prices differ from state to state depending upon the value-added tax (VAT) and transportation charges.
