AAP declares candidates for 3 LS seats in Assam, says 'tired of talking with INDIA'

PTC News Desk: With only a few months until the Lok Sabha 2024 elections, the Aam Aadmi Party announced three seats in Assam on Thursday, emphasising that the party is tired of negotiating with INDIA bloc partners.

At a press conference, AAP MP Sandeep Pathak announced that Manoj Dhanohar will run from Dibrugarh, Bhaven Chaudhary from Guwahati, and Rishi Raj from Sonitpur.

During his address, the AAP MP stated that discussions with the INDIA bloc have been ongoing for months and emphasised the importance of the party's participation and success in the elections.

"Talks with the INDIA alliance have been ongoing for months. We're getting tired of just talking now. We must contest and win the elections. We do not have time. We support the INDIA alliance and hope that it allots the three seats announced today to the AAP," he said.

"When you form an alliance and the goal is to win the election, time and strategy are critical. We have grown tired of talking. How much more time will be wasted in talking," he continued.

Reacting to the AAP's move, Assam BJP leader Hemanga Thakuria stated that the INDIA alliance will not last long.

He claimed that when the INDI alliance was formed in Delhi, the BJP predicted it would be short-lived and that recent events have confirmed this prediction.

"When the INDIA alliance was formed in Delhi, we only said it would not last long, and that has now been proven. Nitish Kumar has already joined our NDA, the TMC in West Bengal has distanced itself from the Congress, and the AAP has declared three seats. The INDIA alliance has now been dissolved.
