AAP makes electoral debut in northeast, to contest Mizoram assembly elections
PTC News Desk: The Aam Aadmi Party has decided to make its electoral debut in the northeast by contesting in the Mizoram assembly elections. The AAP's northeast in-charge, Rajesh Sharma, told reporters in Delhi that the decision to expand the organization and contest elections in the northeastern states was decided on Sunday during a meeting with the party's national convenor Kejriwal. For organizational expansion, a coordination committee and a northeast cell will be formed.
"AAP will also participate in the upcoming Mizoram assembly elections. The details of the number of seats contested and the constituencies will be provided by the state committee, and an announcement regarding it will be made soon," Sharma stated.
People in the northeast are dealing with a variety of concerns, including education, healthcare, inflation, and unemployment, and they believe that AAP can help them find solutions, he added.
The northeast is plagued by a slew of problems, including rampant corruption and nepotism. Chief Ministers in these states frequently see the state as their family estate, and government contracts are typically awarded to family members and friends, he added.
The state's schools, hospitals, and roads are in decay, and inflation is on the rise. Unemployment is a serious issue. He stated that addressing these concerns has become critical.
Following the party's track record in Delhi and Punjab, the people of the northeast believe that only the AAP is capable of completing these responsibilities, according to Sharma. So, they want the AAP to grow its organization and run in elections in all of the northeastern states.
