PTC Web Desk:  The political atmosphere in poll-bound Bihar turned tense after the Darbhanga police arrested Mohammad Rizvi, alias Raja, a resident of Bhapura village in Singhwara, for allegedly making abusive remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother. Rizvi is accused of using objectionable language from the stage of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s 'Voter Adhikar Yatra'.

According to police officials, Rizvi was identified in a viral video where derogatory comments against PM Modi and his late mother were allegedly made during the yatra. The clip shows a group of Congress workers hurling abuses from a dais adorned with posters of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. The incident occurred in Darbhanga before the leaders proceeded to Muzaffarpur on motorcycles. Following outrage, the police confirmed Rizvi’s arrest and further investigations are underway.

The episode sparked a major row, with the BJP filing an FIR at the Kotwali police station in Patna against the alleged remarks. Senior party leaders launched a fierce attack on the Congress. BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar accused Rahul Gandhi of encouraging derogatory politics, stating: “Rahul Gandhi, the kind of abuses against PM Modi being used from your stage are intolerable. You must apologise to the nation. The people of Bihar will never forgive such conduct.”

In damage control mode, the Congress distanced itself from the remarks. Senior leader Rashid Alvi condemned the use of abusive language, stressing that the party does not endorse such behaviour.
