Delhi excise policy: Manish Sisodia sent to judicial custody till March 20

New Delhi, March 6: The Rouse Avenue Court on Monday sent Delhi's former Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia to judicial custody till March 20, in the case pertaining to the Delhi excise policy. 

Manish Sisodia's was was produced in the Delhi court on Monday as his seven-day CBI custody ended .He will now be lodged in the Tihar jail.


After Manish Sisodia's lawyer request, the court has allowed the former Delhi Deputy CM to carry a pair of spectacles, diary and pen and Gita during judicial custody period. 

Meanwhile, Sisodia has also filed a bail application before a Delhi court, which will be taken up for hearing on March 10. The court has asked the CBI to file its reply.

Manish Sisodia will be lodged in Delhi's Tihar jail. Special Judge MK Nagpal sent him to judicial custody for 14 days after noting that the CBI didn't demand further custody of him at this time, but it might be sought later, if required.

Meanwhile, the court allowed Sisodia to have medicines prescribed in his MLC conducted by the CBI officials.

As requested by Sisodia's side, the court also directed the Jail Superintendent to consider the request of keeping the accused in the Vipassana cell/ Meditation cell.
