India takes note of Pakistan’s nuclear tests; issues statement after Trump’s claim on secret trials
PTC Web Desk: India on Friday strongly criticised Pakistan following allegations of secret nuclear testing, calling Islamabad’s actions “clandestine and illegal.” The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said such activities align with Pakistan’s long history of nuclear smuggling and violations.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, during his weekly media briefing, said, “Clandestine and illegal nuclear activities are in keeping with Pakistan’s history, decades of smuggling, export control violations, secret partnerships, and the AQ Khan network.”
Jaiswal was responding to questions regarding US President Donald Trump’s recent claim that Pakistan had been secretly testing nuclear weapons underground. “In this backdrop, we have taken note of President Trump’s comment about Pakistan’s nuclear testing,” Jaiswal added.

Earlier, Trump told CBS News’s 60 Minutes that while the United States had refrained from conducting nuclear tests for over 30 years, several nations, including Pakistan, North Korea, China, and Russia, continued to carry out underground trials in secret.
“We’re going to test because they test. Pakistan’s been testing. They don’t go and tell you about it. They test way underground, where people don’t know what’s happening,” Trump said.
Pakistan, however, dismissed Trump’s statement, asserting that it was not the first to conduct nuclear tests and would not be the first to resume them.
India reiterated that it has repeatedly alerted the international community to Pakistan’s nuclear record and urged global attention toward the issue.
