PTC Web Desk: Union Minister of State L Murugan has stepped down from his government post and also given up his seat in the Rajya Sabha. He held the portfolios of Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs.

In his letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Murugan asked to be relieved of his responsibilities. He said he now wants to go back to the ground, work with party workers and give all his time to building the BJP in Tamil Nadu before the 2029 Lok Sabha Elections. In his post on X, he wrote, “Nation First. Party Next. Self Last.”

His exit has added to talk of a possible Cabinet reshuffle. Two other ministers, George Kurian and Ravneet Singh Bittu, had also left the Cabinet in June and July, respectively.
