No use of Opposition alliance, PM Modi will come to power again: Amit Shah takes swipe at I.N.D.I.A
PTC News Desk: While discussing the Delhi Services Bill in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, Union Minister Amit Shah slammed the Opposition coalition--I.N.D.I.A--saying it is 'no use' because Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come back to power with a complete majority.
Amit Shah was addressing the Lok Sabha as the House discussed and passed the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023.
Shah also chastised the Opposition for backing the Aam Aadami Party (AAP)-led Delhi government, urging them to "think about Delhi, not the alliance."
"I request that all parties refrain from supporting or opposing any Bill or Act solely to gain the support of any party. This kind of politics should not be practised. There are multiple approaches to forming an alliance. Acts and Bills are introduced in the name of the country. You are just concerned about your alliance,” he said.
"For you (The opposition), it does not matter if anything happens in Delhi, or if a minister does anything. You do not think about corruption. You have to support because you have to form an alliance. I request the members of the Opposition to think about Delhi, don't think about the alliance. Even after they (the opposition) formed an alliance, Narendra Modi will become PM again with a full majority. So, don't sacrifice the people's welfare for your alliance, because there is no use of it. People are watching everything,” the Union Minister added in the Lower House.
The union minister also slammed the Congress for 'suggesting' the party do the 'right thing,' claiming that the AAP will not join the alliance after the Delhi Services Bill is passed.
“I have tabled the Bill before the House and want that a discussion should take place with neutrality. I want to say to Congress, that they (AAP) will not be part of your alliance once the Bill will be passed. So, please do whatever is right,” he added.
