SAD rebel Jagmeet Brar expelled from party's primary membership for six years
Chandigarh, December 10: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Saturday expelled rebel Jagmeet Brar from the primary membership of the party for six years.
Jagmeet Brar was asked to appear before the disciplinary panel on Saturday for hearing on his alleged anti-party activities, but he failed to do so.
Panel chairman Sikander Singh Maluka said Jagmeet Brar sent a letter explaining he was only trying to strengthen the party.

He said since Jagmeet Brar was did not appeared before the panel, he was expelled from the primary membership of the party.
Sikandar Singh Maluka, chairman of the disciplinary committee, said if action was not taken now, it would harm the party, therefore the party terminated the membership of Jagmeet Singh Brar for six years.

Earlier, Jagmeet Singh Brar was supposed to appear on December 6, but he took time from the disciplinary committee for December 10 due to the death of a worker. However, recently, Brar met Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh and conveyed him the decision to resign from all posts of the SAD.
