Bikram Singh Majithia appears in drug case, challenges CM Mann says, ‘lead SIT yourself’
Patiala: Former Punjab Minister and a senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal, Bikram Singh Majithia arrived at Patiala today to appear before the special investigation team (SIT) in connection with a drugs case registered against him on December 20, 2021, ahead of the assembly polls.
The SAD leader accused the Aam Aadmi Party government of politicising the drug issue and claimed that the SIT summoned him because he supported Mann’s daughter in recent allegations made by Seerat Kaur Mann in a social media post.
Senior leader Majithia stated that the SIT is being run by Bhagwant Mann, which is unfortunate. He claimed that when he announced his intention to stand with a girl, he was issued with the summons and was already aware of it.
Challenging CM Bhagwant Mann, Majithia said that SIT chief IG Mukhwinder Singh Chhina is retiring on December 31.
Taking a jibe at Mann, Majithia said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should lead SIT all by himself. Senior Akali leader challenged CM Bhagwant Mann that after the end of Martyrdom Month, he will answer all his questions.
Majithia stated that Kejriwal was summoned to the ED but fled in Bhagwant Mann's plane. Majithia stated that he himself follows the law, which is why he appeared in front of SIT today.
Notably, Congress government filed a complaint under the NDPS Act against Bikram Singh Majithia in Mohali on December 20, 2021.
Majithia was also detained at Patiala Jail on February 24, 2022. But however he was granted bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on August 10, 2022 and he was released on August 11.
