Ludhiana, November 19: Five students of a university in Ludhiana sustained injuries after a clash broke out between two groups over an Instagram post on Saturday. The university is situated on Mullanpur road. The students who sustained injuries belong to Ludhiana.
As per reports, there was a post on Instagram regarding the convocation at the university. Old students posted some comments, which was objected to by the students currently studying at the university.
When the old students came to the university to collect their degrees, a verbal fight broke out between them and some junior students. Five of old students went outside the university premises, where they entered into a fight with juniors, who were reportedly carrying sharp-edged weapons and baseball bats. The fight took an ugly turn and five old students sustained injuries in the melee.

The number of junior students is said to be between 30 and 35. The injured have been identified as Janu Sharma, Gaurav, Manjeet Mattu and Gursharan. Three of them were hit on the head with a sharp-edged weapon. The injured were taken to Civil Hospital.
Student Amanjot said alleged that he went to the police station to file a complaint, but the police did not listen to him. The students were made to sit there in an injured condition.
Amanjot alleged that the students had to go to the Ludhiana hospital after getting medical done. On the other hand, old students are seeking action against the accused on the basis of CCTV cameras installed outside the university.
