CM Bhagwant Mann unfurls tricolor in Bathinda, condemns centre for rejecting Punjab’s Tableau

Bathinda, January 26: To mark republic day celebrations, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on Thursday unfurled the tricolor at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sports Stadium to observe the 74th Republic Day of India in Bathinda, Punjab. Addressing the people from the stage, he condemned the Modi government for rejecting Punjab’s tableau for R-day.

Remembering the freedom fighters, Punjab CM said that if the martyrs had not given sacrifices for freedom, the country would have been a slave today.

“Punjabis have given 90 percent sacrifices for the country's independence. Even today, Punjabis are standing on the first front on the border of the country. That's why Punjab is known for the sacrifices and revolution of the country's independence. Punjab came forward in making the country self-reliant. During the freedom struggle, many Punjabis sacrificed their youth for the country,” said CM.

 Citing the example of Bhagat Singh's sacrifice, he said that a man does not become great because of his age, but because of his great thoughts.

Appealing Punjabis for Rangla Punjab he said, “If the youth have to go abroad, then what was the need to sacrifice Bhagat Singh. He would have lived a long life instead”.
