Gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuri's mother shot dead, Bambiha Group claims responsibility
PTC News Desk: Notorious gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria's mother and former village sarpanch Harjit Kaur was shot dead late Thursday night in Batala. Two people were shot dead in an act of targeted killing. The other person has been identified as Karnveer Singh.
"Unidentified bike-borne persons opened fire at them when Harjit Kaur and another person, Karanvir Singh were in the car," Deputy Superintendent of Police, Batala, Paramveer Singh said. Davinder Bambiha Group has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, pointing towards a likely act of revenge in the backdrop of escalating gang rivalries.
Police have registered a case against unidentified persons based on the statement of Karnevir Singh’s father, who is an ASI in Punjab Police.
According to the preliminary reports, Karnevir Singh who is a resident of Bhikhowal died on the spot while Harjit Kaur was immediately rushed to Amritsar where she succumbed to her injuries. The CCTV footage of the attack has been recovered and investigation is underway.
