Four Punjabi youths killed, 5 injured in horrific road accident in Italy
PTC Web Desk: A tragic road accident in Italy has claimed the lives of four Punjabi youths and left five others injured. According to reports, the incident occurred when a car carrying several young men from Punjab collided head-on with a truck, resulting in the death of four passengers.
The victims have been identified as Harwinder Singh, Surjit Singh of Jalandhar, Manoj Kumar of Adampur, and Jaskaran Singh of Ropar. Three of them were residents of Jalandhar district, while one hailed from Ropar.
Family members revealed that Harwinder Singh had moved to Italy only three months ago, while Surjit Singh had arrived in December 2024. Surjit’s brother, Mukhtiar Singh, said that Surjit had earlier worked in Dubai for two years but decided to move to Italy in search of better opportunities.
The victims were reportedly living in a village in Matera district of Basilicata, Italy, and were on their way to work when the fatal accident occurred.
The local authorities have launched an investigation into the crash. The Indian Embassy in Italy has been informed of the incident and is expected to assist in the repatriation of the bodies to India.
