SGPC begins preparations for Khalsa Sajna Diwas pilgrimage to Pakistan, calls for passport submission by Dec 25

PTC Web Desk:  The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has initiated preparations for the annual pilgrimage of Sikh devotees to historic gurdwaras in Pakistan on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas (Baisakhi). The committee has urged all interested pilgrims to submit their passports by December 25, to ensure timely processing of travel documents.

According to SGPC secretary Partap Singh, a jatha of Sikh devotees will travel to Pakistan in April 2026 to participate in special programmes planned at various historic gurdwardas. The primary destination of the pilgrimage will be Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib, where major religious events are scheduled. Pilgrims will also visit several other revered gurdwaras across Pakistan during the trip.

The SGPC has made it mandatory for applicants to obtain a recommendation from the SGPC member of their respective constituency. Along with the passport, applicants must submit a photocopy of their Aadhaar card or voter identity card as proof of identification.

He appealed to devotees to adhere to the deadline so that the visa process can be completed smoothly. He said the arrangements have been initiated well in advance to ensure that pilgrims can visit the Pakistan-based gurdwaras in a safe, organised and hassle-free manner.
