Phagwara: Teenager suffers deep cuts on face, neck due to Chinese string; gets 30 stiches
Phagwara, January 27: A teenager sustained deep cuts on his face and neck after a Chinese string got entangled on his head in Punjab's Phagwara district.
The incident was reported on Thursday when victim Sahil (17) was riding his two-wheeler. He has got 30 stitches.

Despite warnings, the use of Chinese strings, also knows as synthetic kite string, continues unabated in Punjab.
Amid Basant Panchami festival, the state government had banned Chinese string. The Punjab DGP also directed all SHOs to conduct surprise raids within their area of jurisdiction. However, the menace continues.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against a shopkeeper from Inder Nagar area, Phagwara, for selling the Chinese string. Kite flyer Gulshan has also been booked.
