Punjab: BSF troops recover 1 drone with 1 packet of heroin from Amritsar
PTC News Desk: Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday recovered another nefarious attempt of smugglers in Amritsar’s Neshta village.
The BSF intercepted the movement of the suspected drone near Amritsar’s Neshta village on December 14, 2023 at around during morning hours.

On the specific information received, Border Security Force troops while carrying out area domination patrolling ahead of border fence observed suspicious item in the farming field near Amritsar’s Neshta village.
During the search operation launched by BSF troops recovered one drone along with one packet of narcotics item suspected to be heroin (Gross wt - approximately 500 Gms) wrapped with yellow adhesive tape from the farming field ahead of border fence from the farming field.
The recovered drone is a Quadcopter (Model - DJI Mavic 3 Classic, Made in China).

This is not the first instance where attempts have been made to smuggle arms or narcotics into Indian Territory from across the border with the help of drones. This has especially been a severe problem in the state of Punjab where frequent smuggling attempts are made with the help of drones by cross-border smugglers.
Vigilant troops of BSF once again recovered the nefarious design of smugglers.
