Emaar's The View residents apprise Planning Board Chairperson of waterlogging, seepage issues

Mohali, July 26: The Chairperson of the District Planning Board Prabhjot Kaur, made a visit to The Views residential society in Mohali on Wednesday to address the serious waterlogging issues faced by residents. The chairperson's visit was in response to a request from members of the Views Owners Welfare Association (VOWA), who represent 696 housing units in the Mohali Hills, Sector -105 Society.

Prabhjot Kaur, accompanied by VOWA members, inspected the affected areas during her visit, thoroughly reviewing both the outer premises and the basement. Members of the society, including Kulwant Singh Dhandi, Vikas Puri, Sakshi Kohli, and Pooja Kanwal, gave a detailed account of the prevailing issues.

At the Club House meeting, Vikas Puri voiced the residents' concerns about the recurring problems of waterlogging, seepage, basement leaks, and the presence of a dairy within the Sector. These problems have been exacerbated by the recent monsoon season, causing significant inconvenience and posing health and safety threats to the members of society.

Waterlogging has particularly affected Sector 104-105's Dividing Road and the Landran-Banur Road, causing health and hygiene problems. School-going children and their parents have had difficulty boarding the bus, while the general public has had difficulty crossing the road.

The Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and structural difficulties have been blamed for the seepage and leakages in the basement. Despite efforts to rectify the issue with Emaar India Ltd, the problem has not been rectified.

Furthermore, the presence of dairy in society has become a serious hygiene concern and a nuisance for residents.

Responding promptly to the complaints, Prabhjot Kaur assured swift and effective action to tackle the issues.
