Punjab: Mother of Indian student killed in Canada consumes poison, dies
PTC News Desk: The mother of Indian student Gurvinder Nath, who was killed in a carjacking incident at Mississauga about two weeks back, killed herself by consuming some poisonous substance on Friday. The incident took place in Nawanshahr's Karimpur Chahwala village in Punjab.
The 24-year-old youth was working as a part-time pizza delivery boy.
Gurvinder was assaulted on July 9 while on his way to deliver a pizza. He was hospitalized for five days before succumbing to his injuries on July 14, sparking protests across Canada.
His mother, Narinder Kaur, was allegedly not made aware of his death. She couldn't bear the shock of learning about it on Friday before his body arrived.
The mother consumed some poisonous substance even before seeing her son’s body.
