Punjab extends deadline for plot registration in unauthorised colonies by six months
PTC Web Desk: In a major relief for property owners, the Punjab Government has extended the deadline for the final registration of plots in unauthorised colonies by six months. The revised deadline now allows plot owners to complete their registration by August 31, 2025. This extension applies to plots measuring up to 500 square yards.
To streamline the regularisation process, plot owners can log in to the official portal www.punjabregularization.in, where the entire process will be conducted online.
According to the official notification, individuals who had entered into an agreement for sale, power of attorney, or other registered title documents for plots in unauthorised colonies before July 31, 2024, will be eligible to register their properties without requiring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the authorities.
Earlier, the last date for plot registration without an NOC was February 28, 2025. With the latest announcement, the Punjab Government has now extended this window from March 1 to August 31, 2025. The decision is expected to benefit thousands of residents seeking to legalise their property ownership in unauthorised colonies across the state.
