Punjab twin blasts: IED used in explosions targeting defence establishments in Jalandhar, Amritsar, says DGP
PTC News Desk: Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav confirmed on Wednesday that improvised explosive device (IED) were used in the twin explosions targeting defence establishments in Jalandhar and Amritsar. However any connection between both the incidents is yet to be established.
He said that police have obtained vital evidence and investigation is underway.
The DGP further said that the attacks appear to be a coordinated strike by certain outfits backed by ISI. Addressing the responsibility claimed by Khalistan Liberation Army (KLA), DGP said that no such outfit exists in reality and it is mere proxy outfits created on the behest of ISI to carry out attacks and project Punjab as disturbed state.
He also said that the attacks coincide with the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor.
“We are in a state of proxy war with Pakistan. Being a border state, Punjab is at the forefront of this war unleashed against our country,” he said.
DGP Yadav also said that Pakistan-based elements are attempting to create a false narrative against Punjab by luring youths and circulating videos of grenades before targeting police establishments and key installations.
