Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda succumbed to his injuries at Fortis Hospital on Wednesday morning after battling for life for 11 days. The entire Punjabi fraternity is mourning Jawanda's death

PTC News Desk: Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda has passed away after battling for life for 11 days at a private hospital in Mohali. The 35-year-old Punjabi singer had sustained grievous head and spinal injuries in a motorcycle accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district on Saturday.

Fortis Hospital authorities confirmed that Jawanda was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali in an “extremely critical” condition after he lost control of his motorcycle in the Baddi area while on his way to Shimla. He was immediately placed on ventilator support owing to the severity of his injuries.

Doctors had earlier described his condition as critical and largely unchanged. An MRI of the brain showed hypoxic damage, which they attributed to the CPR administered at the initial treatment centre. Additional scans revealed extensive injuries to both the cervical and dorsal spine, leaving him with profound weakness in all four limbs.

Despite intensive medical care and prolonged ventilator support, Jawanda’s neurological status remained severely compromised with minimal brain activity. The hospital had described his prognosis as “guarded.”

Jawanda, known for his popular Punjabi tracks, could not recover from the extensive trauma and succumbed late on Tuesday, leaving the Punjabi music fraternity and his fans in shock.
