Shocking incident in Malerkotla: Woman doctor found dead in locked room; two daughters rescued
Malerkotla crime news: In a shocking incident, the body a woman doctor was found in a locked room of her rented accommodation in Malerkotla on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Dr Chandrama Choudhary. He two daughters aged 3 and 5 were also found locked in the room. The incident has left the residents community in shock and mourning.
According to the police, Dr Chandrama Choudhary, who worked as a psychiatrist at a de-addiction centre, had been residing in a rented accommodation on Kothi Road in the Noor Basti area for several years. She was known for ordering groceries online, but for the past three days, deliveries had gone unanswered, raising concerns among neighbours.
Upon noticing a foul smell emanating from her house, residents alerted the counsellor, who, in turn, notified the police. When the police broke open the door, they found the body of the woman doctor. Her two daughters were found in a distressed state.
The body has been sent for postmortem to ascertain the cause of the death. Meanwhile, the two daughters have been admitted to the hospital for medical care and psychological support.
