Stray dog menace triggers panic in Ludhiana as 15 cases of dog bite reported in four hours
PTC News Desk: The stray dog menace is becoming a serious threat to human life after at least 15 cases of dogbite were reported in Ludhiana's Khanna city in Punjab in just four hours.
The injured have been admitted to Khanna Civil Hospital.
The rapid increase in dogbite cases has triggered an alarming concern as some patients were seriously injured that they had to be referred to advanced hospitals.
The growing menace of stray dogs has created an atmosphere of fear and concern among city residents.
Parents of the children who were attacked said that on Amloh Road, a stray dog infected with rabies attacked the children playing on the streets. Fear of stray dogs is rising to the point that children are finding it difficult to step out of their homes. The residents have urged the district administration to take measures to curb the menace
Dr. Tarika from Khanna Civil Hospital said that around 15 dog bite victims, including children, were admitted for treatment. One child was critically injured and had to be referred to Chandigarh. She further said that the cases of dogbites continued to be reported into Khanna Civil Hospital till late night.
