Amritsar, November 15: Amid tight security arrangements, key accused in Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri murder case, Sandeep Singh Sunny,  was produced in the Amritsar court on Tuesday. The court further sent him to two-day police remand. Heavy police force was deployed at the Amritsar court complex to prevent any untoward incident.

Sudhir Suri, a leader of the Shiv Sena, was shot dead while he was sitting on a dharna outside a temple in Amritsar on November 4. The incident took place despite the fact that he had been provided police security.

Prior to this, the Punjab Police was given seven-day remand of accused Sandeep Sunny in connection with the murder of Sudhir Suri in Amritsar. The police are scrutinizing his cellphone details.

On the other hand, strict measures are in place for 'kirya' of Sudhir Suri on November 16.

A case has also been registered against those who set ablaze Sandeep Sunny's shop, said accused's lawyer Jasbir Singh Jammu.
