Punjab logs 5,664 fresh Covid-19 cases, 30 deaths in 24 hours
Chandigarh: Punjab on Sunday reported 5,664 fresh Covid-19 cases, and 30 fatalities due to coronavirus, according to a medical bulletin of the state health department.
Covid-19 positivity rate in Punjab has dropped from Saturday’s 16.65 percent to 13.28% percent on Sunday. On Saturday, Punjab had reported 7,699 fresh Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has reached 7,13,445, the bulletin said, adding that the number of active cases stands at 46,472.
Mohali reported the highest number of fresh cases with 1,084 cases with a positivity rate of 35.18 percent. Ludhiana reported 836 cases with a 15.91 percent positivity rate, Jalandhar 703 with a positivity rate of 18.92 percent, and Hoshiarpur 518 with a positivity rate of 20.13 percent, the bulletin said.
Amritsar reported 410 fresh cases, Ferozepur (240), Rupnagar (232), Bathinda (226), Patiala (224), Pathankot (174), Gurdaspur (171), Faridkot (148), and Muktsar (145).
With 7,660 new recoveries, the number of cured persons has reached 649,995. As of now, 16, 978 people have lost their lives due to coronavirus in the state.
