Punjab MC Election 2021: Days before the Punjab Municipal election 2021, the Punjab and Haryana High Court was informed that the Election Commission has issued a notification permitting videography of the polling booths. As per the report, the division bench of Justices Rajan Gupta and Karamjit Singh stated that the videography would be confined to outside the polling booths while efforts would not be made by anyone to conduct photography and videography beyond the barricades placed for the entry of the voters to the polling booth. The development came at a time when the bench was hearing a plea filed by Harjinder Kaur and others seeking directions to the Punjab government to ensure fair and impartial elections for the Mohali Municipal Corporation. The State counsel submitted that the notification dated January 29 on videography has been issued by the election commission ahead of the Punjab Municipal election 2021.
