Punjab: One more arrest in Rajasansi sacrilege case

Amritsar: Punjab police on Wednesday made one more arrest in connection with the incident of sacrilege at Gurdwara Ber Sahib in Dharamkot village, Rajasansi. Also Read | Punjab makes Punjabi eligibility test a must for Group C, D posts The arrested persons are said to be the main accused of sacrilege that took place on Saturday. The police lodged an FIR against the act on Saturday night. The case has been registered under Sections 295A and 120B. According to reports, the police scanned CCTV cameras in the area to identify the miscreants and arrested the accused after a thorough investigation. The arrested accused will be brought before Ajnala court and will be sent to police remand. Notably, torn pages of Guru Granth Sahib were found in Rajasansi’s Gurdwara Ber Sahib on Saturday, creating chaos in the area. The miscreants allegedly tore 40 pages of the holy book, Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Following the incident, the police were informed and an investigation was launched into the matter.
