Punjab: Uncle confesses of giving 'drug overdose' to minor boy struggling for life
In a shocking case of drug overdose in Punjab, a minor was found lying unconscious due to alleged drug overdose by his uncle in Hoshiarpur on Wednesday morning.
The victim, Shiv Prakash who was a student of class 5th was under the influence of drugs, doctors confirmed as he was taken to a local hospital. Due to the strong effect of the drug, the minor failed to regain consciousness despite repeated efforts by local doctors, police said.
The doctors also confirmed a mark on the head of the victim that is keeping him in an unconscious state.
The allegedly accused uncle of the minor was thrashed by the locals after he confessed of feeding drugs to the minor boy time and again. The uncle of the victim was himself on drugs during investigation.
According to police, the accuse has been arrested and they are waiting to record the first information statement of the victim after he regains conscious.
