Income Tax department conducts raids at Park Hospitals across Punjab; financial records under scrutiny

PTC News Desk: The Income Tax department on Monday morning conducted simultaneous raids at all branches of Park Hospital in Punjab. Teams reached the hospitals in Mohali, Patiala and Bathinda at around 9 am, accompanied by local police personnel, and began their searches.

During the operation, officials examined the hospitals’ administrative offices and documents. They also questioned officials associated with the hospital management. However, the I-T department has not yet issued an official statement explaining the reason for the raids or identifying the case linked to the action.

According to sources, the operation has been kept strictly confidential. Entry into and exit from the hospitals have reportedly been restricted. The team has also taken the mobile phones of senior hospital officials, administrative staff and managers into its possession.

Financial records and documents under scrutiny

During the searches, officials are examining records related to the hospitals’ financial transactions, tax payments and claims made under government schemes.

The team is also checking digital data stored on computers, servers and other electronic devices. Billing records, bank account statements and other documents are reportedly part of the investigation.

Sources suggest that the action may be linked to complaints of financial irregularities or violations of rules. However, the department has not confirmed these claims. It also remains unclear which specific case or First Information Report (FIR) the raids are connected to.
