Chasing 217, Chennai Super Kings started with Murli Vijay and Shane Watson. Murli Vijay went back to the pavilion after scoring 21 runs while Shane Watson (21), who was in the mood, was dismissed by Rahul Tewatia.

Faf De Plessis, a consistent player, scored another half-century including 7 sixes and one boundary. He scored 72 runs off 37 balls. For CSK, Sam Curran and MS Dhoni played a cameo.
Curran scored 17 runs off 6 balls including 2 sixes while MS Dhoni smashed three sixes as he went out to score 29 runs off 17 balls.
