Mohali, January 24: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia in drugs case. The order was passed by Justice Lisa Gill after hearing final arguments on his anticipatory bail plea. The SAD leader was booked by the Punjab Police under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the SAS Nagar police station on the basis of a 2018 report submitted by the anti-drug Special Task Force (STF). Notably, the High Court's decision is a major jolt to Bikram Singh Majithia as it comes a day before the process of filing nomination papers for the Punjab polls.
