SAD wants case registered against Cong election manifesto head Manpreet Badal and all members
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today demanded immediate registration of a case against Congress Election Manifesto Committee chairman Manpreet Singh Badal and all its members after a Nabha farmer held the Congress government responsible for his death in his suicide note.

Stating this here, former minister Bikram Singh Majithia said chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh should also be held accountable for the suicide as he had failed to honour his promise to implement complete farm loan waiver of Rs 90,000 crore.

Speaking about the suicide of Kakrala village farmer Gurmel Singh, the Akali leader said the distressed farmer had held the State government as well as several individuals responsible for his suicide. “While a case has been registered against the concerned individuals no action has been taken against any government functionary including the Chairman and members of the Congress manifesto committee”.

Mr Majithia said in case appropriate action was not taken in the matter the SAD would launch an agitation for Gurmel Singh and all such farmers who had been betrayed by the Congress government. He also demanded that Rs ten lakh compensation and a government job be given to the more than 550 farmer families whose near and dear ones had committed suicide in despair after the Congress party went back on its word to waive off all their loans.
