PTC News Desk: Elon Musk's artificial intelligence venture, xAI, has launched Grok for X Premium Plus subscribers in India. Grok's services are now available in 46 countries, including Pakistan, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Singapore. The development follows last week's announcement of the launch of Grok access for X Premium users in the United States.

Grok is still in the beta phase and is only available to X Premium members, who pay Rs. 1,300 per month or Rs. 13,600 per year in India. This pricing is consistent with other regions where Grok is available.

Grok distinguishes itself from conventional chatbots by providing witty responses. It has two modes of operation: fun mode and regular mode. Grok can answer queries that other known AI chatbots may have dismissed by leveraging real-time data from X.

As more advertisers leave the microblogging platform, the billionaire has emphasised decreasing the company's reliance on advertising and focusing on subscriptions and making them more appealing.

He even plans to make X into a "super app," providing its customers with a variety of services ranging from chatting and social networking to peer-to-peer payments.

Musk launched xAI in July in response to Big Tech's artificial intelligence efforts, which he has criticised for excessive censorship and a lack of safety measures.

After OpenAI's chatbot ChatGPT captured the imagination of businesses and customers worldwide, large tech companies such as Microsoft and Alphabet's Google are rushing to build AI-powered products.

Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015 but left the company's board of directors in 2018.
