A small preparatory meeting of Sukhbir Singh Badal was organized before a ‘Pol Khol’ rally in Abohar on September 9 to highlight the alleged conspiracy hatched by the Punjab Congress government against Shiromani Akali Dal. The meeting itself turned into a rally.

Sukhbir Badal reached at the rally and addressed the public where he said that Congress has not done anything in their tenure.
Badal further said, “if I have accepted a challenge of Jhakar and came to Abohar, then I will also go to his home village i.e. Panjkosi.
Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the Congress is in the process of spoiling the situation of Punjab by trying to weaken" Sikh institutions, as well as the Sikh 'Panth'.
On Jakhar's alleged threat that Akali leaders would not be allowed to enter villages, Badal said the party would hold a rally in the Congress leader's native Abohar town on 9 September. "This 'Pol Khol' rally will break the arrogance of Jakhar and show him how popular he is in his own hometown," Badal said.
