But the issue of early marriage is a far bigger threat to the future of the country. The Child Protection teams have saved a lot of minors from getting married. These teams have given these minors a new life. The most recent case in Punjab and Haryana is a reminder, that the government should take more strict actions to eradicate this menace. Also Read: Aadhaar details help 5-yr-old girl reunite with family The child protection team saved a minor from getting married on Sunday at village Seoli, Mohali district. The child protection-cum-prohibition officer, Arvinderjeet Kaur, received the information through child helpline number. The team received information that the minor was getting married to a 28-year-old man in Mohali district. According to the media reports, both the girl and man were the residents of Haryana’s Ambala district. Their families organized their marriage in Mohali to avoid any legal action against them from Haryana authorities. The families took the girl and the man to Seoli Gurudwara as soon as they learned about the raid by the protection team. The protection team then immediately contacted the concerned station house officer (SHO). He helped the team and saved the minor from getting married.
