Heartbreaking! Australian cricketer Fawad Ahmed announces death of his baby boy following health battle

Fawad Ahmed son death: A heart-breaking, tragic and fateful news sent shockwaves and distress through the cricket community as Pakistan-born Australian cricketer Fawad Ahmed announced heart-breaking death of his fourth-month-old son following a prolonged health battle. 

Australian cricketer Fawad Ahmed and his wife had welcomed their second child in June 2023, but he was having health problems and was admitted to the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne to get a diagnosis. 


However, in sad, painful and upsetting news, Australian spinner Australian revealed the heart-breaking news that his son passes away on October 23. 

Right-handed Australian star took to his X handle (former Twitter) to announce the news the sad news and wrote, "Till we meet again my little angel, Unfortunately after a long struggle my little man has lost the painful & tough fight, I believe you are in a better place, we will miss you so much., I hope no one ever goes through this pain, Request for Prayers."

 

In the post shared on X handle, he also shared two heart-wrenching pictures of his son in illness. 

Expressing condolence on demise of fourth-month-old baby boy, Cricket Australia took to X handle (former Twitter) and wrote, “The thoughts of the Australian Cricket community are with former Australian spinner Fawad Ahmed after the passing of his young son. Our condolences are with Fawad, his family and friends in this terribly difficult time.”

Earlier, in an interview in September Fawad Ahmed breaks down and expressed about he and his family facing tough times. "Every day he grows, and his bones and joints become harder and stiffer,” Ahmed said. “I want him to hold a cricket ball and a cricket bat as soon as possible - so we need to get on with this thing quickly,” he added. 

Fawad son undergone a surgery to move his mouth and tongue forward in August, after weighing three kilogrammes

Ahmed continues to play club cricket in Victoria and hopes to continue his career in the Big Bash League, where he recently played for the Melbourne Renegades. He has also appeared in five ODIs and two T20 Internationals for Australia in 2013.
