IND vs PAK, Asia Cup 2023: India secures biggest win against Pakistan by 228 runs

IND vs PAK, Asia Cup 2023: Virat Kohli and KL Rahul's centuries, followed by Kuldeep Yadav's five-wicket haul, powered India to a 228-run victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match on Monday at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Kuldeep scored his second ODI five-for as India eased to a 228-run win - Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf did not bat in Pakistan's chase. With their tremendous victory, India secured first place in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s table.

Defending a tough mark of 356, India pacer Jasprit Bumrah breathed fire in the fifth over of the game, dismissing Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq, giving a major blow to Pakistan. In the 11th over of the game, all-rounder Hardik Pandya stunned Babar Azam with an incredible ripper.

Shardul Thakur bowled a peach to get the better of Mohammad Rizwan.

The ball was bowled near off stump, but it shaped away from Rizwan, who locked his bat face and got an outside edge. KL Rahul collected the ball behind the stumps with ease. After Rizwan departed for two runs off 5 balls, Pakistan was left in great trouble

With some incredible movement on the ball, Indian pacers continue to trouble Pakistan batters. Fakhar Zaman was becoming restless as Pakistan's required run rate rose. He fell while trying to take on Kuldeep Yadav. Kuldeep's fuller ball was the one that shook the stumps. Fakhar left having scored 27 runs off 50 balls.

Agha Salman was critically hurt in the 21st over of the game after he was hit in the face by a ball bowled by Ravindra Jadeja.

On Kuldeep's delivery, Pakistan batter Salman moved to play a sweep shot but completely missed the ball, catching him in front of the stumps. Salman attempted a review, but ball tracking indicated that the ball would have clipped the leg stump.

Kuldeep picked up his third wicket when Shadab Khan was caught in the deep by Shardul Thakur, leaving Pakistan at 111/6 after 28 overs.

Kuldeep picked up his fourth wicket of the match, dismissing Iftikhar Ahmed for 23 runs.

The Indian spinner bowled Faheem Ashraf to complete his fifer, and India won by a large margin of 228 runs as Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, who went off during fielding with niggles, did not bat.
