Jasprit Bumrah set to make blockbuster comeback; check deets
Jasprit Bumrah comeback: In a major boost for India ahead of the World Cup, Jasprit Bumrah is likely to make a big comeback well before the big tournament begins in October in India. Indian cricket fans are looking forward to seeing star bowler Bumrah return to the international stage.
Bumrah has been out with back problems since September of last year. He was rushed into action against Australia at home that month after missing the Asia Cup, with the T20 World Cup on the horizon, but it backfired as it aggravated his injuries, ruling him out of crucial series and matches, including the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series and the WTC final. He also missed the full IPL 2023 season for the Mumbai Indians.
The Indian team has struggled to find a replacement for Bumrah's devastating pace and accuracy in his absence.
According to News18, Bumrah will make his comeback later this month when the squad travels to Ireland for a three-match T20I series. The tournament will begin on August 18th, with all three matches taking place in Malahide. This series will provide an indication of Bumrah's fitness, with the Asia Cup following in September before the ODI World Cup begins on October 5.
“Jasprit Bumrah is looking very good for the Ireland series in August this year. It will be a big boost to the Indian cricket team and will also allow Bumrah time in the middle after the long injury lay-off. If everything stays on course, a Bumrah at peak fitness is likely to take the field,” News 18 quoted an official saying.
