Asian Games 2023: Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh won India's second silver medal at the Asian Games on Sunday, finishing just behind China in the final of the men's lightweight double sculls.

The Indians, who ended 11th in the Tokyo Olympics, went on to defy the odds and secure their place on the podium.

The Army men won India's second silver medal of the day with a time of 6:28:18 in the Men's Lightweight Doubles Scull Final A.

Fan Junjie and Sun Man of China took first place with a time of 6:23.16s. China has already won a second gold medal at the Asian Games. Uzbekistan took bronze with a time of 6:33.42.

The Indian duo gave the hosts a run for their money throughout the competition, breathing down their necks the entire time.

China managed to open up a wider distance with 500m to go, building a 2.73-second lead. Uzbekistan maintained their third-place finish.

The trio of Ramita, Mehuli Ghosh, and Ashi Chouksey clinched silver in the women's 10m air rifle team event at the end of the qualification round with a total score of 1886.

Ramita (631.9) finished second and Mehuli (630.8) finished fifth to qualify for the individual finals. China's Han Jiayu, on the other hand, raised the bar by creating a new Qualification Asian Record with a score of 634.1, which is 0.1 higher than the previous mark achieved by her compatriot Zhao Ruozhu in New Delhi in 2019.
