Swapnil Kusale: Shooter who bagged third medal for India in Paris Olympics 2024 is TTE with Railways

Paris Olympics 2024: Swapnil Kusale, who won the third medal (bronze) for India at the Paris Olympics 2024 in the 50m rifle 3 position event on Thursday, is a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) with the Pune Railway Division. Born in 1995 into a family with an agricultural background, Swapnil Kusale was introduced to sports through Maharashtra's Krida Prabhodini programme. After a year of rigorous physical training, he chose shooting as his sport.

In 2015, Kusale earned a gold medal in the 50m rifle prone junior category at the Asian Shooting Championships in Kuwait. He also triumphed at the 59th National Shooting Championship in Tughlakabad, where he won gold in the 50m rifle prone event, surpassing renowned shooters Gagan Narang and Chain Singh. He replicated this success at the 61st National Championship in Thiruvananthapuram, clinching gold in the 50m rifle 3 positions event.



Swapnil Kusale’s Shooting Achievements

Asian Championship, Korea (2023): Silver medal in the 10m air rifle individual event and secured an Olympics 2024 quota place for India.

World Championship, Cairo (2022): Gold medal in the 10m Air Rifle team event.

ISSF World Cup, Changwon (2022): Two gold medals in the individual and men’s team events.

World University Games, Chengdu (2021): Gold medal in the 10m Air Rifle individual event
