Swine flu has gripped the state, with 47 people has been tested positive for the virus till date. Suspected cases of swine flu have spurred the district health officials into action.

On Wednesday, a resident of Taran Taran in Amritsar district died of swine flu case reported from the sub division. The deceased has been identified as Gurmeet Kaur.

According to her family members said she had high fever and was taken to the civil hospital in Amritsar, where she succumbed to deadly H1N1 virus on Tuesday.

According to doctors, a survey would be conducted and the affected families would be examined in order to prevent deadly influenza.
