Delhi: Three-Storeyed Building Collapses; Children dead
A three storied house collapsed at the Sawan Park area of Ashok Vihar in northwest Delhi this morning, killing at least 11 people residing in the house during the incident.
Police and rescue teams have been pressed into service to pull out anyone trapped in the debris.
Fire officers say that they had recieved a call around 9.25am after which four fire tenders and two rescue teams were rushed to spot, along with a team from the disaster relief. Rescue operations are still underway.
Seven people have been pulled out so far.
Police say that some part of the house seemed to be illegally constructed by the owner. Several families were staying in it and are suspected to be injured.
A CATS team has also been pressed into service to rushed the injured to the hospital.A case of negligence is being registered.
Two teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) mobilised for Ashok Vihar where a three-storey building has collapsed.
