Uttarakhand: Yamunotri National Highway blocked due to falling debris

Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand), July 27: The traffic on the Yamunotri National Highway has been suspended due to the continuous debris falling at five places of Uttarkashi including Dabarkot and Jhar Jhar Gad.

"Efforts are on to open the highway by the National Highway Authority Barkot. New Delhi, July 27: Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha faced disruptions on Thursday over demands of opposition members related to Manipur situation and both Houses were adjourned till 2 pm.

While the Lok Sabha saw an adjournment soon after it met for the day, the Rajya Sabha was first adjourned till 12 noon and then till 2 pm. Rajya Sabha saw noisy scenes almost from the beginning of the proceedings. Opposition party members raised slogans over their demands related to Manipur situation including discussion under Rule 287.  Many opposition members were wearing black clothes.

New Delhi, July 27: Opposition alliance INDIA is likely to boycott a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of Rajya Sabha to be held on Thursday morning to protest against the prime minister not making a statement on Manipur violence in Parliament, a senior leader said.
