Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi moved a resolution that "this House having taken the serious note of the gross, deliberate and repeated misconduct of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in utter disregard to the House and authority of Chair resolve that the matter of his misconduct be referred to Committee of Privileges of the House for the further investigation and report to the House and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury be suspended from the service of the House till the Committee submits its report."

WB: Jadavpur University student dies after "falling" from hostel balcony

RBI revises inflation outlook for 2023-24, sees "substantial increase" in near-term

The Reserve Bank of India has upwardly revised the country’s retail inflation projections for 2023-24 at 5.4 per cent, against 5.1 per cent it projected in its previous monetary policy meeting in June.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, as part of his remarks after the policy meeting, said assuming a normal monsoon, retail inflation is revised to 5.4 per cent, with Q2 at 6.2 per cent, Q3 at 5.7 per cent and Q4 at 5.2 per cent. Retail inflation for Q1 2024-25 is projected at 5.2 per cent.

Delhi gears up for Independence Day 2023

Ahead of Independence Day 2023, Delhi Police tightened security and imposed prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 144 in several areas of New Delhi in order to maintain law and order situation of the national capital of India.

Delhi Police also imposed prohibition on the sub-conventional airborne devices such as paragliding, hand gliding, hot air balloons, powered aircraft, para-jumping , etc. 

The restriction on the aerial devices has been imposed within national capital from July 22 to August 16 due to security reasons.
